Who this work suits
Quill is built for owner-led and specialist businesses selling complex services that require explanation and trust: professional services, industrial and engineering services, property and development organisations, and other considered purchases. We work from Adelaide with businesses across Australia.
A useful starting point is a strong business whose website no longer explains its value. Perhaps visitors struggle to understand your specialisation, the site attracts unsuitable enquiries, or prospective buyers still need a lengthy explanation before a useful conversation can begin.
What the engagement covers
- Commercial discovery: define the buyer, offer, decision barriers and useful measures of success.
- Structure and copy: organise services, evidence and next steps around the questions buyers ask.
- Original design and development: carry your positioning into a responsive experience for mobile and desktop.
- Search foundations: descriptive metadata, crawlable pages, canonical URLs, a sitemap and appropriate structured data.
- Launch and handover: check agreed pages and journeys, document access and confirm responsibilities for ongoing care.
The written proposal sets the page scope, copy and asset responsibilities, integrations, measurement setup and post-launch refinement period. Stock or commissioned imagery, third-party costs and any work outside the agreed scope are clarified before work begins.
A redesign should preserve what already works
For an existing website, we first need to understand valuable pages, incoming links, enquiry journeys and available search data. If an address changes, the launch plan should map the old URL to its relevant replacement. A redesign that loses useful content or established search paths can create avoidable work after launch.
New sites start without that history. Their initial job is to be accessible, explain the offer clearly and give buyers a useful next step. Indexing, rankings and enquiry growth must then be measured over time.
How delivery is planned
We agree the scope, commercial terms and schedule before reserving production. We reserve the production slot once the agreement is signed, the agreed payment is received, access is provided and required materials are approved. The schedule reflects the complexity of the work and the time needed for your reviews and approvals.
Scope and investment are determined by the organisation, existing website, complexity and commercial requirements. If the existing website may be worth preserving, an independent audit or targeted optimisation engagement can establish the more sensible path first. Review all four ways Quill can help or read our website delivery process.
What success should mean
Visitor numbers alone cannot tell you whether a B2B website is working. We recommend tracking relevant search visits through to enquiries, qualified opportunities and won projects. Baseline data is needed before claiming improvement; a fast page or a click on an email button is not proof of a new customer.
Search foundations are part of the build. Ongoing content, promotion and search optimisation need a defined scope and continued work. We do not promise a particular ranking or number of leads.
Questions to answer before commissioning
Can you work with our existing brand?
Yes. The discovery process establishes what to retain and where messaging or design needs refinement. A wider identity project is scoped separately where required.
Do we need to be in Adelaide?
No. We serve Australian businesses remotely, with clear review points and an agreed decision-maker for approvals.
How can we assess your approach?
Read our illustrative project scenarios and the B2B website audit checklist. Illustrative scenarios explain our thinking; they are not client case studies or evidence of achieved results.
What should we bring to the first conversation?
Your current website, the services you want to grow, the kind of buyer you want more of, the problem prompting the project and any deadline. If available, bring search and enquiry data. Our agency selection guide can help you prepare.
